Will Approval Cycle apply to children also?

Suppose I have a Process with sub-processes, if I am to set an Approval Cycle for the sub-processes also, Should I do it individually or setting it on the parent is sufficient?

While you can set the approval cycle / configuration of users on each level, it is more worthwhile to instead set the approval configuration at the parent level and then apply the changes to the children.
