In the EPC instances hosted in the Interfacing AWS Cloud – What all backup plans are employed? In case of a crash/mishap – what is the latest data that can be restored?

Interfacing takes automated backups of the EPC DB on customer instances to Amazon S3 by taking point-in-time snapshots. The full DB backup is performed every 24 hours while an incremental backups of the DB are taken every 30 minutes and can be more frequent upon client requests.

ITC uses 90 days of retainment period for its SaaS hosted DBs on AWS.

The backup plans are used to define backup requirements, such as how frequently to back up your data and how long to retain those backups. These can be customized based on customer requirements.

The backup on AWS is fully secure and verified.

Since AWS backup services is incremental through Snapshots, each snapshot contains all of the information that is needed to restore the instance (from the moment when the snapshot was taken) Snapshots are incremental backups, which means that only the blocks on the device that have changed after your most recent snapshot are saved.

The DB restore in case of a crash with be from last snapshot available within 30 minutes prior to the crash incident.
